An incomplete 10 volume set. Text unmarked with a light patina and numerous b/w illustrations. Bound in decorated dark red cloth with gold gilt lettering, gilt top-edges, bumped corners and various degrees of rubbed edges. Binding is sound on all except volume one. Hinges remain attached but are split on all volumes. Binding is shaken on volume one with a damp stain present and some red ink that bled from cloth. Page 3-6 is torn on hinge of volume 10. Front endpages are ripped on volume 2, 4, 5, and 9. Side of text-block is dirty on volume 5. A nice decorator set or reading copy.
