Pricing Guide

BOOK PRICING

About 80% of our store is used and 20% new.

Used paperbacks will be stamped on the first or second page indicating half off the publisher's price printed on the back cover.

Used hardcovers are not stamped but individually priced on the first blank page.

New paperbacks are usually unmarked inside with a single line on the bottom of the text block in pencil. This indicates 10% off the cover price.

New hardcovers are priced on the first blank page with a discount between 10-30%.

Unfortunately, in order to keep the lights on, we do have to maintain a minimum price-

Mass market paperbacks (except for westerns and romance) are a minimum of $4.00.

Trade paperbacks (the next size up) are a minimum of $4.50.

Children's books have a minimum of $2.00-$1.00.

For example, this means that a mass market from 1940 with a $0.90 cover price will be $4.00, not $0.45.

If the price is from before the current year, feel free to ask a Chamblin's associate to check if the price can be adjusted.
