Complete 8-volume set decoratively bound with leather gilt spine and gilt along edges of the cover boards. Binding is square and hinges are intact on each volume, however, the front hinge of volume 1 is completely split, though still attached by two threads. Text remains unmarked on lightly patinated and foxed pages; beautiful blue marbled text block remains vibrant on all sides of each volume. Spines are rubbed at the edges, though gilt is still bright; written on each spine is "Macaulay's History of England" and volume number.
