406ppg. Text is unmarked with a light patina from age. Purple cloth boards have bright gilt lettering and illustration. Shelf wear to cover boards, bumped corners and sun tanned edges. Spine is sun tanned and edges of spine are lightly frayed There is a bookplate and inscription on inside end paper as well as old pricing in ink on front flyleaf. Title page is partially detached from binding. A burn mark to bottom inner corner through front endpaper to preface. Lithograph for first story, "The Spectre of Tappington" is torn from top, but still intact. There is also an inscription in ink on this page.
