This assumed first edition (no date listed) has boards three quarter bound in black leather with straight edges and rubbed, chipping corners. Surface wear is present with patina along the top edges and foxing along the fore edge. Spine is uncreased with gold gilt titling and 4 raised bands. Small crack at the front bottom hinge but remains intact. Surface markings present with chipping on third band. Torn and chipping head present. Text block is square with toned and lightly foxed edges. Binding is firm. 228p. End pages have toned edges and light foxing. Interior has a small penciled notation present at the top edge of front end page and title page, otherwise contents remain unmarked with thin, some creased, pages through out.
