Regensteiner Publishing Enterprises, Inc., 1969. Vol. 5, No. 3. 4To Magazine. Fair. Item #95738
61p. All the latest news and gossip much more. TeenSet Magazine was one of the most popular U.S. music magazines of the 60's. Contents are unmarked with a warm patina and some b/w and color photos with vintage advertisements. Wraps are vibrant and glossy with bumped corners. 3.5" tear on bottom hinge. Stapled binding intact otherwise with two small holes around top and middle staple. At this point Teenset really wanted a name change to reflect the times but just couldn't decide on one - hence, the question mark. Zappa's Freaks - a great article about Frank Zappa and his Bizarre label and artists. Includes a great rare photo of Pamela Des Barres and the GTO's (nearly 2 page photo), full page color pinup of Frank Zappa and info on all the above plus Alice Cooper and Wild Man Fisher. Hollywood Cowboys - this was the year that country and rock became hyphenated bedfellows. Look for Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers, Dillard and Clark (color photo of the group with the great Gene Clark and Michael Clarke too!), Poco, and clothing from Nudie's (Savile Row for C&W stars) The Rogue's Gallery of Rock Writers - text and photos on Robert Christgau, Jan Wenner, Tom Nolan, Jerry Hopkins and more. Jackie Lomax - great interview with the Beatle friend and Apple recording artist. Really informative. Features on witchcraft, conspiracies and morality. Cover with nude Jimi Hendrix and Mia Farrow dolls, a commentary on the John and Yoko Two Virgins controversy.
