Lauderdale, dated September 3, 1961-- discussing the photo that would be the cover for this book and her going on the Today Show. Should be noted that the telegram remains in fair condition with bug erosion around edges and spotted in center. First edition hardcover bound with green and pink striped paper boards and green cloth spine titled in gold and white. Boards are lightly bumped and toned around margins. Binding square and secure. 337p. Deckled pages toned and unmarked. Dust jacket remains in fair condition, unclipped and protected in brodart cover. Margins heavily rubbed with several chips missing. Surfaces scuffed and toned. Faint moisture stain rings around head of spine panel. Basis for the hit musical by the same name!
