Complete 3-volume set- hardbound in tree calf, outlining career of master sculptor, Antonio Canova. Boards lined and paneled with gilt décor. Marbled text block. Gilt decorated and banded spine has gilt titling & volume number against red & green plate. All b/w engraved plates from Henry Moses present through each volume- protected by attached paper rather than usual tissue. Paper has detached though remains included for a handful of plates. Each volume is marked by light surface wear, bumped corners and moderate edge rubbing. Volume one's rear board has few 3inch chips from surface. Volume two missing a non-consequential chip at the crown of spine. Volume three is marked by a mildly worn spine and largely detached front board. Other bindings remain square and secure.
