Beautiful complete 6-volume set half bound in soft blue calf skin and blue marble decorated boards. Binding remains square and hinges are fully attached across all volumes. Text remains unmarked on lightly patinated, and occasionally foxed, pages; all volumes include color frontispiece with intact tissue. Text blocks are very minimally foxed and all top edges are rose gold gilt. Spines are sun faded to a light teal color and are slightly darkened at the head and feet, however, gilt lettering and decoration is still bright; Jane Eyre and Shirley volumes have a dark stain over the center of spine that bleeds over to the cover calf skin. Includes original blue cloth woven slipcase. This shows edge rubbing, especially to the corners; and is very heavily foxed internally, however, this isn't visible when books are incased.
